Vein & Laser is a group of very experienced doctors, nurses and ultrasonographers who pride themselves on their honest, realistic and caring approach to your concerns. We offer treatments (non-surgical and surgical) for vein problems of the legs and face, appearance medicine for the face and body and cosmetic laser treatments.

Vein Physician

Dr Elizabeth De Felice - MBBCh, FACP

Dr Elisabeth is our senior physician who has been associated with venous problems since 1994. She examines patients with varicose vein problems and recommends treatment options. She manages the non-operative treatments, as well as occasionally assisting at surgery. This gives her an all-round balanced overview of the many problems we see. Elizabeth is a member of the Australasian College of Phlebology (ACP), and passed the ACP Fellowship exams in 2012. She is also trained in Appearance Medicine and subscribes to the 'less is more' school of thought when it comes to BOtulinum TOXin and fillers.

Ultrasonographers

Ultrasound has had a huge impact on the diagnosis and treatment of venous problems since first used on veins in the early 1990's. Vein & Laser is fortunate in having two very experienced venous ultrasonographers.

Bronwen Allen - DSR, DMU.
Bronwen has being scanning veins since the first dedicated vein clinic opened in 1994 and had many years of experience in general ultrasound prior to that. Now she works only with veins and loves it, still finding them fascinating and challenging.

Daryl Queenin - DSR, ASAR.
Likewise, Daryl is also passionate about veins, joining the team in 1996.

Bronwen & Daryl have worked together in various clinics since 1987. Between them, Bronwen and Daryl perform all the mapping scans, (which clarify the variants in anatomy and identify the underlying problems), DVT scans and any pre-operative marking. They assist Elizabeth with Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy (UGS), EVLT (laser).

Vein Surgeon

Mr Stan Govender - MBChB, FRACS

Stan is our resident consultant vein surgeon, who has experience and expertise in all aspects of varicose vein management. He provides a comprehensive surgical service with routine pre-op ultrasound scanning and is a member and Fellow of the Australasian Society of Phlebology. Stan's meticulous approach achieves consistently beautiful results. Stan trained in South Africa, but finished his postgraduate studies in New Zealand, specialising now in vein and breast surgery.

Laser Nurses

All our laser treatments are provided by qualified registered nurses who specialise in surface laser treatments. Your care and safety is important to us, so all our laser staff also certified in laser safety, in line with NZ laser safety standards. All our laser machines are FDA Approved - so are certified and regularly tested.

Our friendly team consists of Sue, Laura, Rebekah and Derek, left to right below, who job share.

Office Manager

Christine McManus - Cert Business Admin & Comp

Christine is the friendly voice on the phone and the cheerful face at reception. She will book your appointments and help with insurance claims. She has nursing experience and efficiently manages our day-to-day operations.
