Excessive Sweating - Hyperhidrosis
Sometimes spelt 'Hyperhydrosis'
Sometimes it’s OK, but excessive sweating is an embarrassing issue for many people, both men and women. It is usually an underarm sweat problem, but can also be on palms of the hands or the feet. Deodorants are not always as effective as one would like, and can result in staining of clothes.
Sweaty hands can certainly take the impact out of a handshake, and sweaty feet are uncomfortable and smelly.
How to stop sweating - Treatment
Allthough it is not a permanant cure for hyperhidrosis, treatment is with BOtulinum TOXin (Dysport) and is very effective, lasting for up to 9 months. One session is normally all that is required.
If you are being treated for excessive underarm sweating, shave your underarms about 24 hours before treatment. Do not apply underarm antiperspirants or deodorants for 24 hours before or after treatment and do not exercise or have hot foods or beverages within 30 minutes of treatment.
