The most common pigmentation on skin are the flat, dark spots often referred to as "age spots" or "sun spots", frequently found on the face and hands. These brown spots on the skin can be easily removed, and are the direct result of accumulated exposure to sunlight.
Other pigmentions can be genetic or as the result of scars or injuries.
If you can feel the spot with your eyes closed it needs to be inspected first by your doctor.
