Microdermabrasion
is a mini procedure that involves blowing inert
crystals onto
the skin under pressure and then suctioning
them
off
using a sterilised nozzle. This
removes the stratum corneum (top) layer of the
skin; dead
skin cells.
Microdermabrasion also
promotes the production of new cells in
the basal
(deepest) layer
of the dermis. Microdermabrasion
stimulates collagen
working to further even out skin
texture and appearance. It is effective
in
reducing fine
lines, age spots and acne scars.
As with other skin rejuvenation
techniques, more
than one
treatment may be needed to reduce
or
remove fine wrinkles and unwanted
pigmentation.

Microdermabrasion
can not be expected
to removed deep scars or wrinkles,
birth marks
