Skin Care
The following rules are not new and should be
followed by everyone, male and female, old and
young to achieve and maintain the best skin that
your genes can provide.
- Use sunscreen (preferably sunblock) every day.
- Don't smoke - ever.
- Cleanse daily - twice a day
if you wear makeup or are acne prone.
- Exfoliate - gently - once every day after cleansing.
- Eat
antioxidants daily (Vitamins A, C, and E
- lots of fruit and vegetables).
- Most skin damage is
caused by exposure to sunlight (UVA - aging,
and UVB - burning),
followed
very closely by smoking (both active
and passive), which
releases toxins both inside and outside the body.
Observing the five rules will
not only give you the best skin possible (not to mention more
youthful), but also go a long way towards minimising
acne and blemishes. If you want to wear makeup,
but are prone to blemishes, try a tinted moisturizer/sunscreen
combination based on zinc oxide.
Elaborate skin care routines are not necessary,
and the three types of products mentioned above
will do an excellent job. Add a moisturizer to
give softness and surface hydration to your skin.
Men who start to use moisturizer will very quickly
notice a decrease in the number of shaving nicks.
