An introduction to our vein Treatment Options

Vein & Laser was established by Elisabeth & Bronwen in 2005 with the goal of achieving the best long-term results for every vein patient, by using the most appropriate vein treatment methods. The Vein Specialists Elisabeth, Stan, Bronwen & Daryl have many years of combined experience and have worked together in this and other clinics going back as far as 1994.

The following vein treatments are available to both men and women of any age.

• Initial consultations with Dr Elisabeth De Felice or Mr Stan Govender
• Fine facial & leg veins: Surface Laser or simple Sclerotherapy (Injections)
• Larger varicose veins: Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy (UGS), Endovenous Laser Treatment (EVLA), Varicose Vein Surgery
  
• Combinations of the above
• Ultrasound Mapping
• Deep vein scans to detect DVT
• DVT treatment

Vein Treatment Locations

Vein treatments are available at the Sunnynook, Herne Bay and Warkworth clinics. Exceptions are:

• Surface laser, which is only available in Sunnynook
• Initial consultation with Stan is only at Sunnynook
• Surgery, which is performed by Stan in the Northern Surgical Centre

What is the treatment for varicose veins?

There are three main options: Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy (UGS), Endovenous Laser Treatment (EVLA) and Varicose Vein Surgery.

Vein Surgery is still very much an appropriate treatment in many varicose vein cases for many reasons – number, size & distribution of veins, not to mention lifestyle limitations and personal preference.

For those where the non-surgical treatments are more appropriate or preferred, treatment is a process taking several months with follow up checks, and may involve a combination of treatments.
