Initial Consultations
with Vein Physician

Initial consultation with vein physician.

You will be asked about your medical history and how your varicose veins are affecting you.

To diagnose varicose veins, the phlebologist (vein physician) examines you. This includes looking at your legs while you’re standing. A doppler may be used to assess the flow in the veins.

It’s a painless test that uses sound waves to listen to the blood flow through the veins and arteries.

Treatment options will be discussed, all treatments have their advantages and disadvantages. The phlebologist will suggest which treatment might be the right option for you.

An ultrasound scan (vein mapping) is often needed before finalizing the best treatment for your varicose veins (vein injection sclerotherapy, endo-venous laser or surgery).
